Psychedelics for Healing [ONLINE]
September 20 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
September 20th from 4-7PM, Hannah McLane with be in conversation with Rick Doblin and then Marcela Ot’alora to discuss how we can use MDMA to heal trauma and mental stress, especially in times such as the current pandemic. Rick Doblin is the founder and director of MAPS, and pioneer in the psychedelic therapy space. Marcela Ot’alora is a principal investigator for MAPS clinical trials, and has a passion for using art to enhance psychedelic healing. Aubrey Howard will then lead us through a calming and centering transformational breathwork session.
Next month we will welcome Joseph McCowan, who is an expert in diversity and inclusion in the psychedelic space, and has a passion for access. Joseph is a MAPS Phase III trial researcher, and also a creative director of SoundMind ‘Animations for Access’ project, which can be viewed here: https://soundmind.center/animations
We can’t wait to bring experts to you for free programming to address the growing need for access to mental health and wellness information, especially during COVID isolation and increasing rates of trauma and stress.
*The Solidarity Series is an initiative by SoundMind Project, a nonprofit aimed at providing access to wellness information and therapy to marginalized groups in Philadelphia and beyond. We will be offering monthly speaker lineups from June 2020 – June 2021, with a particular focus on mental and cognitive health, alternative medicine, and psychedelics. All donations related to this series will go towards providing educational material and psychotherapy to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), and COVID-19 essential workers in need. Additionally, we have ongoing scholarships available to BIPOC for educational courses (SoundMind Learning Series) and sliding scale for psychedelic psychotherapy. *
